Does it hurt?

Every body experiences tattooing differently, from mild discomfort to pain. The pain is only temporary and can be lessened by good breathing, a solid meal before, and remembering the pain will be gone soon but the art will be there forever.

What if I'm scared or a cry-baby?

Pirate Tattoo is extra gentle with first timers and cowards. Sasha takes the time to walk each client through the process and is dedicated to making the tattoo experience a positive one, even for the most nervous nellies.

What is the process?

Most tattoos start with a consultation during which the design, size, color, location and price are discussed. When the design is ready and all questions have been answered, a stencil is applied to the body. Once the best placement is achieved, the actual tattooing takes place.

What safety procedures do you use?

Pirate Tattoo maintains high standards of cleanliness to insure the safety of clients and artist alike. All pre-sterilized needles and tubes are for single use only and are discarded after use. All machines and equipment are protected from cross contamination with barriers, while hand washing and gloves round out the remaining precautions used.

Can my boyfriend/girlfriend/trick give me kisses on my new tattoo?

A fresh tattoo is an open wound, albeit a beautiful one. Therefore, you want to follow the same guidelines regarding fluid exchange as you would if you had a gaping cut on your finger.

The short answer: no kisses on new tattoos until they are entirely healed.

Can I bring my own design?

Most definitely. Designs can come from any source: postcards, magazines, wrapping paper, paintings, photos, the list goes on...Pirate Tattoo also has resources and ideas.

Can you design something for me?

Absolutely! Much of the work done at Pirate Tattoo is custom-drawn. Bring all your ideas and images to your first consultation and Sasha will work collaboratively with you to ensure you get a design you'll love that will also look great as a tattoo. Once you're sure you adore the design, we'll tattoo it.

What aftercare do you recommend?

Detailed aftercare is given to each client and with time taken to answer all questions. Follow ups are standard and any questions are welcome any time during the healing process.

How much does it cost?

Prices are based on each individual tattoo taking into account detail, time and size.
